The New England Holocaust Memorial and 6-6-6

Holocaust Memorial near South Station, Boston, Mass. Erected 1995 |
Take the train to South Station in Boston if you've never seen the Holocaust Memorial. I was lucky enough to be one of the Union Ironworkers who fabricated the massive stainless steel beams which hold the glass on which are inscribed Tattoo numbers of the doomed - representing the 6 million people exterminated in the 6 concentration camps represented by the 6 towers. It's no accident that these numbers are 6-6-6!
.
Writings of survivors are included in the exhibits.
.
Here's an example:
ILSE, A CHILDHOOD FRIEND of mine,
once found a raspberry in the camp
and carried it in her pocket all day
to present to me that night on a leaf.
IMAGINE A WORLD in which
your entire possession is
one raspberry and
you gave it to your friend.
