Save Our American Railroads, they're fading fast

Summertime Service from Boston to Cape Cod
I Saw America by Train

I saw America by train.
From the rocky coast of Maine
to the vast Texas plain
I saw America by train.
On board at south station,
the rail hub at Boston,
over the tracks you be racin’
to the Texas Eagle at Austin
South Station in Boston - Still standing as of 2018 and serving
millions of passengers on the busiest route in America -
Boston to Washington D.C.
This Austin depot is gone but the Texas Eagle still runs every day
on its way from the dusty plains to the city of angels known as L. A.
Through piney woods and trails
beyond the Alamo and Dallas
you fly along the speedy rails
to the end of the run at Los Angeles
The old Southern Pacific Station at L.A.
You can still see America by train.
Though Congress hates the track
and tries to flush it down the drain
Lowly
Amtrak keeps fightin’ back.
