Pilgrim Monument Rings in the 2016-2017 Holidays

Ringing in Thanksgiving and signalling the start of the 2016-2017 holiday season, the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown was lit on Novem er 23 and will remain illuminated until January 5. . The lighting  ceremony is annually held on Thanksgiving eve to memorialze the 1620 landing of the Pilgrims in the harbor. They stayed for a month or so before deciding to move on to the more friendly environment offered by Plymouth.
The 252 foot Pilgrim monument is the tallest all granite structure in the world.  It was completed in 1910 -  the same year that Bill Russo's new literary creation, 'The Figure in Black', arrived in Provincetown.
He awoke in a Boston Hospital with complete memory loss, after suffering one of the worst TBI's (Traumatic Brain injuries) in history. Something inside his shattered skull led him to Cape Cod.  When he got to Gray Gables, the welcome mat to Cape Cod in Bourne, there were 22 more stops along the railroad line to Provincetown, where he was certain he would find out what had happened to him.  But the blessing/curse of second sight (brought on by the damage to his brain), kept forcing him off the train.  At every stop he was compelled to leave the comfort of the coach and seek out people in need.  Twenty two stops to Provincetown - if his strength held out that long.
Cape Cod's Figure in Black arrives in December, worldwide on the sites of all major booksellers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Smashwords and more!
