Short Story Theater's Top Download

The Most downloaded episode from Short Story Theater for the week ending 15-02-2020 is the story of Chalky Jones. He grew up in Dodge City in 1875 in the shadow of the Long Branch Saloon when the owner, Charlie Bassett, was elected the town's first sheriff. That part of the story is true, while the rest of it comes from our "FEMME FATALE" collection of 'yarns'. You'll get the connection, if you listen to the tale by clicking this link --- https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/22303994/download.mp3

Someone Who Understands You

For most of us, finding someone who really understands us is a difficult problem.  Some fortunate few discover such a person at a young age and spend 50 years or more in harmonious matrimony.

There are many individuals who have longtime, close friends - people whose strings are tuned so closely to their own that they can almost converse, without actually speaking.

But a great number of men and women have no such confidant.  No one upon whom they can safely unburden themselves of their deepest secrets, or ask their most pressing questions.

My friend Knotso Clanky finds himself in that awkward position, where although he knows a great many people, there's not a single one who could serve as Frick to his Frack.

Finally Knotso came up with a solution which he shared in a recent cartoon.  While it may not be a perfect answer to the problem, it may work well.  Time will tell!

Red Sox Give Away Babe Ruth Again!

The Boston Red Sox who famously gave away Babe Ruth, the greatest player in history for a case of coffee and a dozen do-nuts, have done it again.

They've traded MVP Mookie Betts for a Quarter Pounder and a large bag of greasy fries.

Or have they?
